I downloaded 4.0.2 the other day to my desktop.
Extracted it to a desktop folder.
Double clicked on setup.exe. (I had not started the old version of mysql).
Nothing.
1. I had read that I did not have to uninstall the old version of mysql.
Should I?
2. If I should uninstall, how do I do that

Your installation instructions read as follows:
If you don't have a copy of the MySQL distribution, you should first
download one from `http://www.mysql.com/downloads/mysql-3.23.html'.
To install either distribution, unzip it in some empty directory and
run the `Setup.ex
