I am trying to configure my nebula DVB-T card with mythtv on a debian sarge system. The card is recognized by mythtv-setup as a DVB card. However when I try to run mythfrountend and try to watch tv all I get is a black screen. When this happens the terminal prints 2005-01-01 16:04:47

This is most certainly a case of not using the pvr350's decoder. The X-Server is running on the 350? I guess so, otherwise you shouldn't see the slow video. If this assumption is correct the sound should be on the sondcard's line-out jack. Do you see the line Using the PVR-350

I see this behavior both under WinTV2000 in Windows and MythTV. Videos recorded with MythTV have this problem when viewed on my PowerBook in VLC, too. If you are having this behavior with the card in windows too with the factory drivers. You may have a bad card.

Guess I get to answer my own question :-). After your lead on the logs, and seeing it work with root, I went back to the howto and looked for every statement assigning ownership to mythtv. Once I redid the permissions on /dev/video* it all worked again! Not sure what process led to the ownerships
