Are you using mythtv-xbox-0.4.5.beta and Xebian 1.1.0? This is the
latest version of the scripts and it works well for me.

I'm using Xebian on an Xbox, too, and the middle green button will
clear away dialog boxes such as the one you describe. After rebooting
the backend, it is not necessary to reboot the frontend. The worst
that I've seen is that I sometimes have to quit Mythtv on the frontend
and do a window manage
I believe that the scripts will install Xebian 1.1.0 plus whatever
version of Mythtv is in

I haven't had this problem, but it sounds like the "startx" command in
/home/live/.bashrc is not being run. You might try adding the line
"set -x" to the beginning of /home/live/.bashrc to trace what is
happening.
