hmmm.
I tried this driver a very long time ago and it was quite buggy. What
is the driver like now? Do you find it reliable?
I am currently using an external usb ir receiver from a dvb card. I
have another job for that now, and would love to finally use the imon
receiver in my case!

I suspect the issue has little to do with usb vs lirc and more to do
with IrDA vs Consumer IR. There is difference between IrDA and the IR
used to control AV equipment.
FWIW: I use a USB IR Reciever (the one that came with my DVICO DVB
card). It DOES work with LIRC (though I had to patch lirc to a
Hi all,
While I havent actually used it, the Michael Smith one does indeed
look better. It is not suprising that only a 1 line fix was required
for this recent change as this script appears to use a proper HTML
parser modue rather than plain regexes which are more suceptable to
minor changes (addit

Nah, dont think so. The point was that the pid ends with either an '&'
or a ' '. However you split it up it doesnt really matter as long as
you end up with the
Hi,
To all of those who have never actually tried the MSN grabber. It
really is great. Very complete, consistent and reliable. The data
comes from HWW who also supply to most other online tv guides (yahoo,
seven, yourtv, etc). It is therefore essentially the definitive source
of oz guide data. It d
I have attached by tv_grab_au with fixes for this new problem. It
seems to be just a few urls have changed very slightly. Since my
version might be different everyone elses anyway (there were quite a
few iterations floating around) here is a diff which shows the
necessary changes:

May I ask what your xorg.conf (or XF86Config) looks like to get HDTV
resolutions? I have seen the "TVStandard" "HD1080i" mentioned in the
nvidia readme, but it seems to relate to TVout encoder, not VGA/DVI
output. Do you just generate modelines using "videogen" or something,
or are there named buil

Regarding shows running over time...
There was some discussion that the 'now and next' dvb information may
be integrated with the sheduler at a later stage such that it can
shorten or extend recordings automatically.
I have never seen n&n (I dont have a regular STB) but aparently it

As David said the one posted here works great,
I've attached what I *think* is the most recent revision to save you searching.
Configuration is done IN THE SCRIPT, rather than by running
'--configure' manually or through mythtv-setup.
Enjoy,

How about changing the X root background (temporarily) to this remote
image, then 'hiding' mythtv by minimising or backgrounding etc (can
you do that).

G'day all,
Is anyone using bootsplash?
Does anyone know of a mythtv bootsplash theme?
What about background images (ie. to use as X root image while mfe is
loading)? or any other mythtv artwork which might be useful in
creating a bootsplash theme.
I'm in the 'polishing' stage of my mythbox buildin
on.
Now everything should work and you can run mythfrontend.
OK, so I am only about 99% sure the above procedure is what I did, but
it sounds about right...
Hope this helps,

I rebuild my mythtv box recently and this time around I found the
wonderful script channels.conf-import.pl in the contrib directory of
the mythtv cvs (not sure if it is in the releases). It (as you can
probably guess) takes your channels.conf file (the one you use for
mplayer, probably generated by
So did you figure out why transcode is screwing up so badly?
I am having the same problem, If I try to transcode anything the files
grow out of control, there is a serious problem with the transcoder.
Does anyone have a profile that actually works with DVB recordings?

I've just updated my cvs (today) and have this problem on SBS, WIN(9)

previously recorded programs from those affected channels, but not the
unaffected ones. I am seeing simillar log entries to you.

do you have any packages from hoary? In particular libgtk (perhaps as
a dependancy of firefox or something you may be tracking in hoary)? I
had this problem, looks like gdm doesnt like the gtk 2.6.0 in hoary.
BTW. "gtali" also fails to work with hoary gtk.
I downgraded.
