Currently things only run full screen so modifying the

You need to modify the myth settings for now.

For the 350 the OSD information is drawn directly onto the framebuffer. The
EPG however uses the Xserver to display but plays around with the

Busid’s are decimal (this is an X

The change was deliberate to make single

Are you sure it locks up. I believe it will leave the

Restoring the alpha is trivial by adding

The ivtv X driver does not support Xv at the moment.
However to use the 350's output properly tick the
option in Setup/Tv/Playback to enable the use PVr 350
output. Then it talks directly to the 350 and you wont
need Xv support.

Try changeing option "ivtv" to option "fbdev" in the x config
I think it also needs to be /dev/fb1

Use rc3e of ivtv. It "should" fix this.

Not related. That is to do with X and if fbdev wasn't working then X
wouldn't start.
Do you get any other messages when playing live tv? (In particular I'm
interested in messages about dropping buffers).
Does a recording/mpeg play ok?
Can you just record Ok?
For playing an mpeg try
dd if=file.m
Neither. It makes the ioctl calls directly itself.
I was having similar problems last night but set both
chanid & frequency to be the same and then it worked.
I dont think this is correct and couldn't work out
what i'd done to fix it.
I'll have more of a play tonight and try to get to the
bottom
The 350 X driver does not have DGA support. I suspect
there is a bug in snes9x depending on that code or not
correctly working round it not being there.
At some point we could add it but it's not high on my
list at the moment.

It should work so I guess I would start by
feeding another sound source into your line in and seeing if that comes out.
Then you can determine whether it’s the audio card/line in problem or the
350 output. At least then you know where to start looking for the problem.

Check the ivtv-dv list for my latest ivtv patch. Or as a workaround before
starting X send some small amount of output to /dev/video16.
dd if=/dev/video0 of=/dev/video16 bs=64k count=1
Either of these "should" fix this problem, though I would recommend the
patch approach.

For my front end xserver I don't use a window manager. You don't need one
since you are only running mythtv.
However if you do want one ratpoison keeps getting mentioned.

You need to give it the Busid its telling you
0:20:0
Lspci is showing
0:14:0 which is in hex. BusId's in the config file need to be decimal hence
it becomes 0:20:0
Putting a 0x in a BUSid breaks the parser of them.
This is the way XFree & Xorg work the driver is letting X do the Busid

You should have some ivtv errors in your messages file. They may help
explain what is going on.

I posted a v0.8 version on the ivtv-dev mailing list at the end of last
week. That is the best version to use. It is not bundled in any package yet.

Just to clear up a few things here.
0.7 driver was broken it needs both
option "fbdev" "/dev/fb1"
option "ivtv" "/dev/fb1"
to work. This is fixed in the 0.8 driver posted to the ivtv-dev mailing
list.
I have just posted a fix the the ivtv-dev mailing list for the issue that
