That did the trick. Thanks.

Hi All,
I have a PVR-250 and a PVR-500 living together happily in a FE/BE
system. Why is that Myth always wants to the use the tuner that I'm
using for LiveTV to record a scheduled program. There are two other
unused tuners, why not one of them? I know I can switch to another
tuner, that's what

I just helped a coworker build a Myth box using a Pundit. He is using
a PVR-500 card. A Dremel was involved to the card to fit in the case.
Once the case was buttoned up, it makes for a real nice unit. It's
small, very quiet and reasonably attractive. I'd give it a very high
WAF.

The PVR-500 shows up to the system as 2 seperate PVT-150s. Each 150
has it's own tuner. Both tuner's indexes start at zero. You should
change your input on the second "150" to be Tuner0 as well. I have a
PVR-250 and a PVR-500 and all of three use 'Tuner0'.
Good luck,

I've got one on order, so I'm glad to hear it works well. I tried to
build one myself. The fact that I've ordered one should tell you how
well that worked out.

There currently isn't a fix for this problem. I am in the same boat as
you. It is the only thing keeping mythtv from being wife ready. The
best work around to date is to ceate a large livetv buffer. I have
mine set to 10gb. Then remember to change channels every once in a
while and to pop out to th

Welcome to the group. This is a known, yet not wide spread, problem
where the backend crashes when the live buffer gets full. A bug was
filed in bugzilla on it and it has been posted to the dev list a
number of times. Currently the only work around that I've seen is to
set your live buffer to be ve
I'm going to have to agree here. I'm a long time Linux user. It's been
my main desktop since '95. And that was my problem. I thought I could
just skim through the instructions and go because I knew what I was
doing. WRONG. Two installation failures and I tucked my ego in my back
packet. I then took

I went with a FE/BE combo that would sit in my entertainment center. I
bought all quiet parts.

I saw that Hauppauge has a new remote control for sale. According to
the text on the site, it's compatible with existing boards. Has anyone
purchased one yet for use with MythTV? If so, were there any problems
getting it configured? It's got many more buttons and looks like it
would be well worth i
There have a few other people to run into this. I filled a bug in the
MythTV bugzilla on it.
The only advice right now is to increase the size of your buffer and
change channels occasionally.
