i just skimmed my dish 322 manual and it looks like you are out of
luck. you can change both channels to rf, but not ir. get two 322s
for the myth backend, then you can use the other two rf channels for
other rooms. it would cost the same as getting two 311s.
these things never really sold well. that is probably the reason.
circuit city had them on clearance for $55 as well about 2-3 months
ago.

shipping from the us to nz is ~us$100. seems like you could find one
locally for better than ~us$145. if not, this would be a good deal if
you bought two or three.
i think it is in-store only. they are not listed online.

i wrote this back before the days of pre-built dongle.bin.mvpmc

get the ppc binary package from sourceforge:

you will have to configure your firewall to allow all these services through. just turn it
you are looking for a feature called volume punch thru. it is

how many nfs servers are you starting? i limited mine to one and had
problems when trying to play black via nfs using a hauppuage mediamvp.
it would completely lock up the backend machine. i set the number of
nfs servers to 2 or 4, can't remember, and all was well.

i have the same problem with my 322. the fix is to add a select
signal at the beginning of your channel change script. i have been
using it successfully for months.
#!/bin/sh
REMOTE_NAME=JVC_4700
irsend --device=/dev/lircd SEND_ONCE $REMOTE_NAME select
sleep 0.3
for digit in $(echo $1 | sed -e '

the mvp is an excellent purchase for a myth frontend when running
mvpmc linked above. mvpmc does not have full myth functionality, but
it is great for simply playing back recordings.

i too gave up on the epia. i went a different route using hauppauge
mediamvp and a low end server in the closet. it has limited mythtv
functionality, but it is enough for me.

the devs are working on making the new remote work. it's just a matter of time.
make sure you are using the latest binary, 0.1.2. i had similar

the HOWTO is good, but you can avoid a LOT of work using the binary
releases. all you have to do then are steps 5 thru 5.4.

i mentioned earlier that i had a backend machine with an i810 board

it performed much better than fc2 which it has now. i changed so i

here is a howto that decribes what you want. it's a little dated, but
the concepts should still apply. i thought about doing this myself

else. anyway, here is the link.
