There is a script out there called findtvcardoptions.sh that you can
use. It will cycle through all the possible tuner settings for the
bt8x8-based cards and display the result using xawtv. Once you find
the one that works, it will insert the appropriate lines into your
/etc/modprobe.conf file.
with
audio (yamaha chip) or the machine is RAM starved (192MB). Time to dig
through the ALSA archives and hunt for some more RAM for the laptop
(although something tells me 192MB was the maximum RAM this machine could
take).

are [EMAIL PROTECTED] mpg2 captured with a PVR250. Video
clips are ok as I can play them with my celeron 533/ATi Rage frontend machine
without pauses.
Any suggestions for troubleshooting
this?

Buy one of those cheap PC Remote's with serial IR Receiver on e-bay for
like 7 bucks, throw the remote away, and get a 15-2116 from Radio Shack.
I've done it three times for different machines.
Here's a link to what I'm talking about:
consistent between capture attempts. I'll break out my big
basket of remotes and try a few from different manufacturers this time.

there seems to be a difference of about 2 second in between the audio
and the image of my Mythtv setup (audio comes first). I use a BT878
based TV-card.
Anyone any clue?
Asked and answered many times on the list. Search the archives[1] and check

correct location and restarting X. If I can do it, anyone can :-)
