I have run mythtv for a year now. I have used knoppmyth and now my own
install on mepis.
It was working OK for months and then started to segfault on mythbackend
start on apr26.
I tried to restore my good backup of the whole hdd6 mepis install. it
still segfaulted.
hmmm.
I installed knoppmyth
You might check for a ~/.mythtv/mysql.txt. If myth works from the
command line, then that mysql.txt could be correct, whereas the
/etc/mythtv/mysql.txt could be wrong.

states:
$ grep INSERT INTO record mythtv_backup.sql restore.sql
$ grep INSERT INTO recordedmythtv_backup.sql restore.sql
This doesn't work.
The flie is like: INSERT INTO `record`
How do you put this into the grep statment.
My backed up database doens't work when I restore it.
I had to use an older one.
When I try to delete a program from myth I get this error.
ERROR when trying to delete file:

of
grep 'INSERT INTO `record` '
I used instead of '
' works fine. thx.

I feel for you. The simple way is to 'touch' the missing filename in yrour
recordings dir. Then you can delete it. I supose if you have lots of them
you could always try 'mythrepairdatabase' in the contribs folder. Its not
installed in the atrpms distro so you might need to download the source
I should have said that yields an error, but ' as you suggest works.
thankyou

It is a long process. It would be great if there was a quicker way

I am having great difficulty installing mythtv using unstable compiled

eg: apt-get update apt-get install mythtv
I got errors. Lot's of them.
I want to uninstall and start over.
How do I do that. I can't find the instructions.
