OK, I've confirmed that the "loud chirp on skip" problem does indeed
happen when the ALSA:default device is used both on skip ahead
and skip back.
It occurs after approx. 10-12 consecutive skips most of the time but
can also happen with fewer consecutive skips. The problem does seem
less prono

I get this problem too. I guess one way to fix it is to "mute" the
audio before skipping forward/backwards. Anyone who has a fix, please
reply.

0.16.20040906-1, although I'm betting it more of a sound system issue
then a Myth issue.
