is there really nobody out there who has the same effects with lirc?
i have mandriva 2005 le, with unmodified kernel, i just installed
the nvidia 7667 drivers and then compiled mythtv from 0.18.1 sources -
no problems. i have two different machines showing the same issue :-(

Can you post relevent logs (output from mythfrontend and the like) and your
lircrc? Have you figured out which keys get passed, and which don't?

I just found it!! User error! I had misunderstood a config entry
within mythfrontend, asking me for the lirc script. I had entered
the path to my ~/.lircrc file there - obviously a bad idea. This
resulted in these obscure lirc problems. I deleted the entry, and

meanwhile i have two mandrake 10.2 systems at home (one myth master backend,
one frontend-only). both have the same problem with lirc when using external
players like xine or mplayer from within mythvideo/mythdvd.
on one of the boxes i tried it and uninstalled the mdk lirc

repeat = 5 to the OFF button. i start xine through mythdvd,
then just exit xine again using the OFF button, xine closes,
and some millisecs later i see mythfrontend leave the CD/DVD
menu :-( so still same issue. it is

i have a problem with myth0.18.1 + lirc + xine:
i play a video/dvd through mythvideo/mythdvd using xine -H -I -g --no-splash -s
DVD dvd:// .
xine works great when started stand-alone, but when run through myth and i quit
the player, all buttons from my lirc remote which i pressed
I'm running something similar without issue.
Do you have a link from .lircrc to .mythtv/lircrc ? (Not sure if
essential - but thats how mine is setup).
