Out of curiosity, how did you solve your udevproblems? I think so. The lircd.conf file that worked really well with devfs didn't seem to sync as well with udev (in addition to the move from /dev/lirc0 to /dev/lirc/0).  I manually played with a few of the options and seem to have things working fin
