My box is FC3 and I run this with :

The /etc/sysconfig/lircd file had little in it apart from :

Hmmm. I do not have this file.
I wonder if that means that lircd is not working after all?
It simply means that you didn't use
lircd --logfile /var/log/lircd
You may have used some other filename or may have completely left off
the "--logfile"

I wonder if that means that lircd is not working after all? It seems strange
that I can get some limited function with irw if I use the conf file that I
record with irrecord.

I believe this just dumps whatever raw data flows into that device from

I tried this and it does seem to work. (my dev is /dev/lirc0)
This rig did work before I updated so I think that the hardware is OK.
I've

Out of curiosity, how did you solve your udevproblems?
I think so. The lircd.conf file that worked really well with devfs
didn't seem to sync as well with udev (in addition to the move from
/dev/lirc0 to /dev/lirc/0). I manually played with a few of the
options and seem to have things working fin

What OS are you running? I ran into a few bumps when moving to a newer kernel (udev) on gentoo.

No, support is native.
Configuration is by mapping an IR key to a keypress though (rather than
to a logical function)
A bit of a pain if you change your keyboard mapping since you then have
to change your lircrc

Hi,
Thanks a bunch!
I am new in MythTV, but I believe I read that lirc
support was through key press simulations with
irxevent. Or am I missing something?
Do you know what functions are not working yet?
Greets!
