Hi there,I was evaluating nagios and found a strange behavior on my test setup. After a fresh install, I did a minimal setup, just one contactgroup with one contact. A hostgroup with 4 hosts (no parent relationship). Since I´m only interested to know if a host is up or down I just configured a che

And sometimes one is using too many complicated tools when an easier

I too am writing my won interface utilizing the NDO table structure for
the "monitoring" portion and wrote my own tables for the config.

Hi,
In my pursuit in getting performance graphs working it seems the culprit
is in fact the tool for writing to the fifo.
If I use the perl version I am missing entries being send to the named
pipe. (Using a loglevel of 36 seems to be the right way to trace this.)
If I replace the perl script wi

I was perusing nagiosexchange.org and ran across the Oreon Project
(http://www.oreon-project.org/index-en.html). Has anyone given this a
shot? Comments? It looks amazing from the screenshots, but it seems to
be a pretty young project so I'm concerned it might still be pretty
buggy...

According to your own screenshots Notifications are disabled and Service
checks are disabled. While I haven't personally experienced the symptoms
you're seeing, the three screenshots seem to imply a problem reading the
config files. Does your web server have permission to read the .cfg
files? Can y

My thinking is right then. I don't really care about response time.
But, in the event I do, I will set up ping appropriately. Thanks for
the help.

Actually, judging from the subject of the message (and it's not very
clear), it appears the ping check is returning the "duplicates found"
message.
Usually, this happens when a network address is pinged, and multiple
hosts respond.

use grep to find the duplicate definition. Seems you have included too
many files in your nagios.cfg
Use as few as possible and proceed from there in small steps.

Hi,
I have build a new system which prime task will be nagios. Nagios seems to
be running just fine and I was adding NagiosGrapher v1.5 to it to handle
the performance data. But it seems I still have issues with performance
data missing.
I started noticing after I added extra servers instead of g
Yeah, I saw similar reports when I first hit the error. I've since
submitted a bug report to the Nagios debian package, so maybe they
can do something with it. I downgraded to an older version of perl.
Hopefully this will fix the problem.
thanks

Yes - thats definitely set to 1.
ok - so to test this theory about plugins generating the data - which
plugins out of the box would do this ?
I'd like to satisfy my curiousity on this.
thanks,

Nagios will, in my case, ping the host if a service check fails
