I think you're looking for the check_cluster2 program, which is in the
contrib/ directory of the plugins package. You can use that to define a
host/service whose state is influenced directly by the states of one or
more other hosts/services.

start Nagios again, everything's fine.
Anyway, the crashing can be detected and compensated for, but it would be
nice if this problem was fixed. I can't find any place to report bugs,

Also, in my case, Nagios' account on
my system is configured to not save coredumps by default. When I
want a coredump, I run `ulimit -c unlimited` before starting Nagios. Could
you be in the same situation?

looks to me like scheduling downtime
just for the host will not automatically schedule downtime for the services
on the host, and I can not assume that the host and its services will be
going down at the same time.
