I'd seen those, and the USB transceiver as well, which is nice.

I've seen the temperature monitor stuff Ethan has links to on the
website, but I'm the new guy, and I don't have a budget quite yet.
LaCrosse, for example, has 10-channel capable wireless temp and
possible temp/hyg sensor/transmitters for very close to $20 each... but
while they have a PC interfac
Well, that answers that question 0 never mind then and Thanks

I'm currently monitoring the temperature and humidity in one of our server
rooms with a Watchport/H sensor that costs about $150:

Software that comes with it is only for Windows but the modules are bui

I've had good results with AKCP devices for environmental monitoring.

The smallest sensorprobe with 2 sensor ports including a single
temperature / humidity sensor is under $500. These run on Ethernet
with an SNMP and Web interface, and integrate nicely with Nagios.

We use a number of TemPager 4E units:
http://www.tempager.com/
Nagios queries them via SNMP.
Serial is nearly right-out, since we use serial on our machines for console
redirection. I can throw an add-in card into one of the larger machines, I
suppose. Of course, I have seen howtos online to build USB sensors, too...
Although none of us in the office are too handy with a soldering gun

Hi Kevin,

If this could be one option for you ask google how to :-)
