- nrpe compiled with support for arguments
- option dont_blame_nrpe = 1
plugins fail if I pass arguments; tested with check_tcp, check_icmp and
check_load; none of them works if arguments come from the nagios
station; they all work if arguments are statica
We have a requirement to run checks from multiple locations. We
currently use NRPE to perform these checks, and I am running it out
xinetd. Will I potentailly clobber requests if I have requests
coming in from multiple nagios servers to the same nrpe service?

There are two machines:
Machine 1: Monitor Server with nagios and NRPE plugin. Prompt is ">". FreeBSD 6
Machine 2: Previously was monitored using nagios, but now i want it to
be monitored remotely using NRPE. Still have nagios installed. Prompt
is "sysadmin#". FreeBSD 7
Both machines have 2.12 ver
executing check_nrpe via sudo will not accomplish what you want. You
will need to either modify the nrpe.cfg to execute commands via sudo,
or write a wrapper for check_smartmon. I am not familiar with that
plugin, but you may also be able to edit it and prepend /path/to/sudo
before it execs smart
I did modified the nrpe.cfg to execute commands via sudo by adding the

ssl libraries. This is preposterous.
The error in ./configure is that is looks for a file called libssl.so
in $dir, when what it really should test is that gcc test.c -L$dir -lssl

So I'm having a bit of trouble setting up NRPE for the first time.
I'm fairly certain things are working as intended on the remote host
because from the Nagios system I can do this:

Hi All,I realise this is a long shot, but does anyone out there have a precompiled NRPE binary (any version I don't mind) for HP-UX 10.20 or know of where I can get one from? And no, there's no ssh on this box and by the looks of it, that'll be even harder to get to work than NRPE..
