Hi Konstantin,
At the site of Jogi's Rohrenbude you can find a complete design of a stereo
VU-meter with a Burrough's BG12201 bargraph display.

The BG12201 differs, as far as I know, from your BG1

Yeah, that's too much voltage, the filament wouldn't have lasted very long at
that vol
Thanks John!

First try I sourced high voltage to the filament (like 3v), was orange
but luckily I didn't burn it :D

Then I corrected the voltage (to 1.5v):

It's a good start, and you came to the right place. We have folks here from
complete beginners to seasoned experts. And we all have stuff to learn!

Charles, that is a really nice example of reprinting.
But frankly, many tubes that we see are reprinted, for example I am not
even sure if Siemens produced their tubes themselves.
But still .. You can be SURE! if its Westinghouse.
Yes, loved that phr
Not sure if it is the _only_ way to go, but I certainly think that it is a
great way to go. I believe that those chips are SPI, so no need for
additional latches and such. I'm not sure what those chips cost, but they
very happily sampled me a big pile a long while back.

Hi All,
Best wishes and Happy New Year to everyone!
I have got a few panaplex displays, so just looking for chip/chips I
can use to drive 7-17 anodes and about 10 cathodes, as these panaplex
displays work only in multiplex mode.
I really don't want to use transistors as it's too many -about 14

In general the Vacuum tube industry was set up where the makers would
sell "Blank" tubes to each other. I recall one place I bought tubes as

Sorry about the caps on title..I don't know how to edit them!

The time passed and he is busy so I decided to look for help here.

Great work Mike !
Of course I know a lot, but not all. My experience with dekatrons is not
great and I know others even less so it's nice you keep it clear.
I hope the EZ10B's I have are not out gassed. Hydrogen is obvious, together
with helium, the Houdini under the gasses...
Actually that's what

Got mine this morning and a couple hours soldering later have a GC10B
spinning nicely. Just need to case it and get a power supply as its not
very practicable running it from a bench supply. Very nice little kit.

Any hints for the diodes??

I have a couple of dekatrons which have Westinghouse markings and
boxes (
When that HDD topic was discussed somewhere [here?] there was a post saying
that the actual device was used as part of an in-dash system. The 'flash
drive' was acceptable. However, that didn't answer the addition of weights
in the form of big nuts.
IIRC the topic related to imports to Russia?
