Hmmm, 'not sure what to say about the smokiness visible in the side windows. I bought some NOS tubes from a decent seller that had the same issue, but they seemed new otherwise. Maybe it really is a result of burning the tubes in at the factory. i suppose it's possible. The workers probably

I saw one a few months ago, sold in USA for 50$ "Buy it now" New in box... The seller must have not know what it really was. Sadly someone was quicker than me. But i have to admit, i'm not that crazy about big tubes. I think all nixies are beautiful and special. I own a few types i did not find

Sadly, both tubes got tossed with the trash before I even made this post, so no autopsy is possible. That said, I did inspect them visually. There was definitely no visible darkening of the tube, but I couldn't get a good look at the base of the cathode due to shielding. I would have noticed

Ah! Good to know. Does your wife usually takes the trash out of the house in the morning or the night? Just sayin'... :D On Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 1:16:19 AM UTC-3, Michail wrote: > > Well, about $350 for the tubes. > The boards aren't worth much at all except for the sockets. Maybe $10

How many hours on the wife? Warranty? heh. I have one box with 0 hours. Just trying to make a fair trade. Obviously we're both kidding (maybe). I paid about $1k for the box several years ago. I am happy to see the price finally going up. Noticed about 10 tubes with fixable poisoning

I still have to unplug mine from the clock, though I'll admit that I haven't tried it plugged in. I'm not sure how the programmer and the level converter would interact if they are both fighting over the same pins. An alternative is to use an ESP8266 board that has more flash, say 1MB, then

Thanks, Paul. I didn't put a header for programming the ESP on my clock, so I have to remove it to program. The next version will add one. On Monday, January 23, 2017 at 7:57:38 PM UTC-5, Paul Andrews wrote: > > Hand drawn. Hopefully you can read it. It is pretty straight forward: > > >

I've been looking at that, but the seller seems really vague if they are new or now. He says that they are smoky, but is selling them as NOS. I've got an option on 8 boxes of IN-18 at $1250 per box. Seems really high to me. Would you guys take them at that price. Last time I bought a box, it
