Jens, I wasn't sure what you intended. Might have been Russian "thermometer"
tubes as display even.
I wonder what the various guys who have mentioned making audio meters ended up
doing?
Even though you want it for a headphone level indicator, it might get used by
others for different purposes.

Yeah that was the first video I watched of his. I've seen the newer video
of another company millclock making what look like IN-18 style bulbs but
they aren't pin compatible and they're way way long/tall.
They sure to look great. Did you see his video on YouTube of the assy?

To post to this group,
Dalibor has made thousands of his tubes. They are pin compatible and very
esthetically pleasing. They are a good alternative to the original 5680's.At
the price for 568's, the market for kits was probably drying up. I've checked
with Pete at PV and as of a month ago, he was out of kits. Jeff
I like the Dalibor clocks. Nice tubes too. I think I want the single digit
one with the spinning NE-2s

PV Electronics had one kit then discontinued it? I'm really surprised there
aren't really any kits to build clocks with Dalibor's tubes. I'd like to build
one using his tubes versus trying to buy old tubes for 250+ dollars. Am I the
only one that's thinking about this? The B-7971 are a

I hope not because I have a few more project ready to go :)

Sometimes I'm using Bebas and Lato font too.
These three fonts are perfect.

I've said it before: your documentation, presentation, videos—they
Z566M are my favorite tubes, probably because these were my first nixie
tubes.
I remember buying them for $3 and meratronic V544 for $15 :)

The z566m bulbs just rock in a VOLTMETER! I've seen a bunch on polish auction
sites... They're harder to find here and even harder to find one made for
English import with switchable supply voltage on the back. Those Meratronik
are the bomb Nixie voltmeters.

I like the swap the bulbs aspect... My tester and cables you sent is almost

website ties together and the design. Good color and font selection... You've
got good links too. I almost bought a MERATRONIK VOLTMETER
I should have taken you up on them. We may still be able to wheel and
deal. I know you're pretty active in the forum and trust worthy. I got
the tubes from Oregon today. They're good. I got one of the Chinese one
7971 tube clocks today... Interested to try it out. It's got a few options.
Hi David, hi John,
Thank you very much for your help! I am not trying to build a
professional VU meter; rather, what I want is to create a
microcontroller-based LM3916 alternative. These are now obsolete LED bar
driver ICs with a logarithmic output that are quite handy for building a
simple
The 5971's do seem pricey, but as we have learned, some buyers may be willing
to greatly overpay.

Hey Jens...
1). Don't call it VU unless you match the actual ballistics of the ORIGINAL VU
meter
2). Europe tends to use a PPM [quasi-peak] system. Peak Program Meter.
3). Consumer and pro levels are very different. They are often misunderstood
and hence mounds of garbage appear on the web.
Those 5971’s are a bit steep.

I'm glad you got the tubes you wanted; however, I am a little surprised that
you didn't take me up on my offer of $1000 plus shipping for six tested tube

As for the 5971's, thanks for mentioning that they were on ebay. I've been
searching for quite some
Looks great Marcin!!!
When will your website be up and running? I’d like to buy some tester

Hi Martin
Those files are in here :

I believe all the footprints and symbols needed are included so it should
just open but if it doesn't let me know!

I couldn’t find the KiCAD files though, can you post the link to them please. I
am currently using Designspark but I want to try KiCAD and thought this might
be a good project to start with.
