If you look on eBay for switchboard meters, you will find many with 270
degree movements. The eBay seller NRI Industrial often has them, and
frequently accept best offers for less than half of the asking price.
I use a standing search for:

I have done a couple (analog) Panel Meter clocks (I know, not nixie -
sorry).
I was thinking of using an old voltmeter with big meter for a single needle
clock, but don't think it will be very good for a 'clock'.
Searching the webz, I can't find what I am looking for.
Does anyone

Dan,

Thanks,
I have done that project (PIC) and I have done Arduino project.
I was hoping to find an old meter that already had 3 meters in it instead
of building one. Convert something vintage to a clock.
Alan does have a nice and cheap kits though. Although not a premade
circuit board -

May be a bit more than you're looking for...

How about the Dashboard of an not so old old car? The cars these days

I considered that as well.
Something like...

But, that is price prohibited. And, would still have to be mounted.
I might just have to settle on

Thanks,
I considered it, but need 3 needles. Although that would be great for a
clock, I want seconds to show time movement.
It's kind of like having a 4 tube nixie clock. Little boring. Need 6
I was thinking about using a pressure gauge and replacing the bourdon
mechanism with a stepper motor. They have a wider rotation (up to 270
degrees) versus electric meters (typically 90 degrees).

Looks nice.
the kit from Alan project is a nice kit with battery backup. I think it
was upgraded to a 1307
I did it with an arduino with a ds3231.
I just hate making an enclosure which is why I am looking for test
equipment with 3 meters already.
For the scales, it's easy to use Tonne

I made this a few years ago. It uses three meters (bought cheap on ebay)
for hours, minutes and seconds and runs quite well. It synches to the
60Hz line and it's been running since I built in in 2010. As I remember,
it was on this group that someone burned a chip for me to use in the
clock and
More info:
In 2010 there was a discussion of meter clocks and the member who did
the chip for me was I believe Len Bayles. He had a site
http://www.meterclock.com/. He has all of the info there including
schematics and the source code. Really nice guy! Don't know if he's
still on the list but
