Can you retry with 5.4.1.pre1 and
#define NETSNMP_ENABLE_IPV6 1
please?
Has anyone successfully built with IPv6 using the following?
#define INET6 1
I need to know where these unresolved externals are located, and what I
need to link with.
Thanks.

Yes - that was always likely, since the command was complaining
about it. What I actually asked was:

Hello!
I use SNMP package net-snmp-5.4.1.pre1 under FreeBSD-4.11-RELEASE-p26.
That was an upgrade from net-snmp-5.4 package. Everything works OK except
such "strange" thing as VLAN-interfaces discovered via SNMP:

Hello,
We shall change our model to use snmptrapd as the central trap forwarder.
Thank you very much for the suggestion. Now I have some reading to do on
snmptrapd...
Thanks again,

Hello,
Thanks very much for the explanation, Dave. We can now work a solution on
the management station end using the added hostname varbind you suggest.

Hi,
I'm having a strange problem with an application I developed in
perl to do network inventory.
The application worked fine with perl 5.8.8 and net-snmp version
5.2.1. I'm using a fedora core 5.
When I ported the application on a fedora core 6 with perl 5.8.8
and net-snmp

I expected the traps to be logged and sent to a SNMP manager (Zenoss ou
Nagios).
Since my NMS isn't working for the moment, I wanted to log the traps.
And I'm using a traphandle in snmptrapd do run a little script to make sure
that the traps are received...
Hope its enough to answer your question

That last line is the problem.
You are telling the agent to use the same port when
listening for AgentX connections, as when listening
for SNMP requests. T

I figure that my trap receiver is snmptrapd.
I usually restart de snmpd and snmptrapd daemons
on my local box with
service snmpd restart and
service snmptrapd restart.
I used the snmpconf to generate the files
snmp.conf
snmpd.conf
snmptrapd.conf.
I thought this was the correct procedure to make

That version is fairly old by now, and a lot of work has been
done since then on cleaning up 64-bit behaviour.
Can you please try with a more recent release - e.g. 5.4
(or the just-issued 5.4.1.pre1)
Hi,
On CentOS 4.4 with NET-SNMP version: 5.1.2
I get some value from network elements with INTEGER type. This value
could be negative or positive. But I notice that :
- with net-snmp C library or command line tool the value returned is
correct when positive but when it's negative the value is
