Does Net-SNMP support registering IPv6 managers. If so, which MIB is used for
that.
For IPv4 registrations, we can use the SNMP-TARGET-MIB. But, I couldn't find a
standard MIB that can be used for registering IPv6 targets. Appreciate your
help.

So, per RFC, can I summarize:
For SNMPv1, if the community string is incorrect, the agent should send
an authenticationFailure Trap.
For SNMPv2c, if the community string is incorrect, the agent should send
an authenticationFailure Trap.
For SNMPv3, if the auth/priv passphrases are incorrect or if
In SNMPv1 and v2c, if there is any authentication failure on the agent,
it can send an authenticationFailure trap to the sender of the SNMP
request. Shouldn't we be doing the same even in the case of an SNMPv3
agent. The RFC seems to be vague or left it to the implementation of the
calling module,
May be it is a more general SNMP question than a net-snmp question.
Is using usmUserSpinLock mandatory? Based on the RFC, it is an advisory
lock, which probably means it is recommended but not necessary. We are
in a situation, where the manager doesn't use it. But the agent is
failing if the ma

I'm trying to
register v3 managers dynamically with the agents, using SNMP SETs. In the
process, I would like to know how the ipaddresses of managers are mapped to
engine ids. Can somebody help. Thanks.
