Hi all,
I'm hoping someone can help me with this. I'm trying to build an rpm of the
net-snmp package that includes some special scripts and likewise.
I've got my buildroot setup properly. I've got the spec working on as4 but am
having an issue on as3 and not sure where to turn.
When I try
I'm having a weird issue when compiling on rh as3 vs rh as4.
RHAS4 works fine. It's only RH AS3 that I'm seeing the problem on.
%configure --with-defaults \
--with-mib-modules=ucd-snmp/extensible agent/extend host
disman/event-mib disman/expression smux ucd-snmp/diskio \
I'm building the win32sdk workspace on MSVC++ 6.0. The agent builds fine and
all but when I try to run a walk on sysDescr I'm getting the following:
SNMPv2-MIB::sysDescr.0 = STRING: Windows LAPTOP 0.0.0 x86 Family 6 Model 15
Stepping 10
It doesn't look like os build/ os name / os level
That should be 5.4.1.2

Thomas,
Thanks for the response. We're currently moving all of our agents over to the
new 5.4.1 agent but have not gotten around to packaging all our extensions for
solaris yet. What is odd is that this is the only solaris system in our
environment running 5.3 that is having this problem.
We have a system whereby the net-snmp agent is dying unexpectedly.
We can sometimes get it to do 1 or 2 snmpwalks before it falls over and other
times it falls over immediately.
This is net-snmp version 5.3 running on Solaris 8. We have a lot of boxes in
the environment that work just fine

Sharad,
We're seeing the same thing here. We're seeing that it impacts more then
RHEL4u5 though. We're also seeing this on ESX 3.01.
I sent an email to the forum about a week ago 'entitled more net-snmp 5.4.1
startup issues' to the net-snmp-coders forum but have yet to receive a
response.

Okay, here goes, i'll try and be as clear as I can about whats going on:Dell

peer sends the trap and the trap receiver gets it
All,
Okay our infrastructure has tried running this on a 32 bit aix kernel and
our package works fine with that. We have not been able to get net-snmp 5.3
which is compiled on a 32 bit aix kernel to work on the aix 64 bit kernel.

Anyone got any idea on this?
