? How does one know where the snmpd service will look
these configuration files or even mibs?
Unfortunately, it appears the package maintainers add a lot to net-snmp
installation that compile from source just leaves unqualified that I can
see? Even had trouble finding examples on Google
Hi,
Can anybody explain to me the purpose of persistent configuration files?
How do I know which files are persistent or not?
How does their presence affect the smtpd agent, i.e. what happens if I
modify a persistent configuration file versus a non-persistent configuration
file.
Thanks,
Tim

Just create it.
It's a simple text file, so use your favourite text editor,
and save it as

Dear friend,
i have just installed net-snmp in my linux debian box but i don't
really know where the configuration files are fecthed from.
I have seen file in /etc/snmp and /usr/share/snmp
The most strange to me it is that snmpd.conf has configuration
information on both directories.
Thanks ! It is working.

Hi,
I tried starting snmpd from net-snmp-5.3.1 by specifying multiple configuration
files. The syntaxes that I tried are as follows:
1) /opt/internal/bin/snmpd -p /opt/internal/var/run/snmpd.pid -c
/ffs/etc/snmpd.conf,/usr/local/share/snmp/snmpd_persistent.conf
2) /opt/internal/bin/snmpd -p
