I run VirtualBox 6.1.4 on Win10x64 host. The guest is NetBSD 9.0 amd64,
no extensions installed. Using
xrandr --output default --mode 1440x900
in xterm, the VirtualBox window changes to the given resolution, without
any prior changes to the X settings.

I have tried the command but the mode 1440x900 is not found.
If I remeber well, few years ago, one has to add these
modes in the Xorg.conf files.
Is it still the case? Where should this file be installed (probably in
/etc/X11)?

VirtualBox 6.1.4 under Devuan Beowulf
don't have more that 1024x768 mode.
