Hi,
On 7/21 Benoit Claise (OPS AD) sent a message to the IEEE 802.1 WG concerning
the VLAN YANG models work in the IETF METMOD WG. The IEEE 802.1 WG which met in
a plenary meeting last week discussed and responded. The response and the
initial mail are posted at

Thanks for the splendid job done, Juergen!
Regards,
Dan

This documents looks fine to me.
I have one comment though.
In Section 6:
>[RFC6110] defines the standard mapping of YANG data models to
Document Schema Definition Languages (DSDL) [ISO.19757-1]. This
section specifies the mapping for the extension statement

Hi,
Please see the information below about a Call For Interest (CFI) about Ethernet
YANG models which will be discussed at the IEEE 802 LMSC March 2016 Plenary
meeting in Macao SAR, P.R. China (next week). A Call for Interest in IEEE 802
is approximatively the equivalent of a non-WG forming BO
Hi,
Concerning cooperation with the IEEE, we have in place a mechanism of
communication between the IETF and IEEE 802. Mahesh Jethanadani and myself are
involved. The key thing is to send information about important milestones (like
Last Calls) to the IEEE, it can be done via email, no need for
That's what I meant - LNEs seem to be an instantiation of logical entities.

So, let's do it. Tom, or one of the other chairs - you need to run this.

Concerning the 'draft status' - anything prevents the wg from running a short
consensus call and adding this item to the netmod milestones?

The TOTAL/COMPILATION PASSED ratio seems to have improved since April from ~25%
to ~40%. This is good, but there is room for improvement.

Can someone re-send?
Thanks and Regards,
Dan

Hi,
There is a difference between providing guidance to other SDOs or
organizations, and writing YANG modules for them. The role of the activity in
the IETF should be to provide guidance, partly in informational RFCs, partly in
the IETF YANG modules which can be used as design examples. We can
I am fine with the editing proposed by Myo as it makes the scope more clear.
Maybe the only thing I would suggest is to use 'non-standard' rather than
'bespoke' which may puzzle the non-native English speakers. I had to go to the
dictionary to see what it exactly means (but it may be only me!).
