Linux does not recognize .exe files. Do you own the Linux version of it? If not, then you're going to have to get the Linux version, as the Windows version will not work on Linux at all. How do I install Quake on a Linux box. I have the CD, but when I click the Setup.exe nothing happens.

Skip the padded cell but check you BIOS setting first. Is the serial ports set up to AUTO ASSIGN IRQ's and port address? If yes, change it to a set irq/port address. Linux doesn't do well with the auto-assign on ports in bios. (talking from experience). Please let me know if that helps.
