I am using mandrake 7.0 and have a soundblaster awe
64 card. The sound works fine after running soundconfig but the mixer settings
never save after I shut down and when I reboot the system comes on very loud. Is
there a way to save the mixer settings so when it boots it would not come on so
use modprob instead of insmod if you are using 6.0.

I found this worked on my mandrake
6.0.
1) log in as root
2) open thr file /etc/conf.modules in a text
editor I used vi.
add the line alias block-major-8
ppa
3)edit the file /etc/rc.d/rc.local or rc.sysinit
(I used rc.sysinit)
add the line /sbin/modprobe
ppa if you are using 6.0 for
