Hey all.
I use kde on mandrake 9.0. Sometimes I like to use a virtual console. I
can't remember if it's all the time or just most of the time, but when I use
the virtual console for a short period kde logs out by itsself. Or maybe X
is crashing and restarting? Anybody know what's going on?
Hey all, another question. The things in /dev/sound (files or what?) are
all owned by my user, and part of the audio group. I can use sound when I
log in, but when someone else logs in, for example to KDE, they can't use
the sound stuff, because, I guess, I own it.
Not sure why I own it.
Here's a weird bug for you. I just installed mandrake on my computer last
night. I was able to log in to both xwindows and the virtual consoles. I
logged into a virtual console, switched to xwindows, and then later back to
the vc. When i switched back, every 'y' in the screen was
comes to worse, you can configure X to use framebuffer until
drivers become available..
I have had to do that several times in the past with IBM machines with
onboard video.
