You need kdebase-plugins and nsplugins installed.
If you must use kde or gnome as your window manager, get more ram. It`s
reletively cheap now.
I`ve run xwindows and windowmaker and netscape on a 486sx25MHz before with
64MB ram.
If you type top you`ll see what ram you are using and how much swap.
swap is the h/d and is slow.

KDE seems to take a lot of memory.
I have a 128MB machine, it`s a pure workstation with no servers. Mandrake
8.1, KDE 2.2.1. I have :-
kmail 1.3.1 in desktop 1
konqueror 2.2.1 in desktop 2
terminal/shell in desktop 4
Once it`s booted up and I use top, I see 120MB in use and 4.6MB swap used.
I`m curious as my posts take can take up to Four hours to appear.

Well, I`ve already addressed the kde 2.2.2 upgrade question as Mandrake 8.1
comes with kde 2.2.1.
Originally, I had Mandrake 7.2.
Everything worked pretty well, printing etc.
Instead of doing an upgrade which I dislike in any OS, I removed the 7.2
H/D and put in a new H/D for the
