i can connect with kppp but when i ping noone is out there. i can ping my
local address (i'm pretty sure) but when i type i route, there isn't any dns
servers listed. i checked resolv.conf both at runtime and not connected and
the same problem still lingers. anyone have any ideas?

After getting Linux-Mandrake 6.0 installed and
running, I tried
your lucky. i had the same problem except reversed. 5.3 wouldn't play the
1371 card and i haven't tried 6.0 yet. quick solution: get a soundblaster
card.

ok, youv'e helped me immensly in the past and i hope you can do the same
thing on this one. first off the reason i do not leave a descriptive enough
question with info is because i'm busy porting myself over from
microsoft(along with trying to get their certification for work related
reasons) and
i've finally got kppp to connect to my isp but after the connection is made
i try to ping and the terminal window hangs. i open up netscape and it
can't find anyplace. i try to change the mail account from within netscape
but that window hangs netscape. i endup having to disconnect. anyone have
i seemed to have my modem (isdn bri t/a external) configured properly under
kppp and the account info is correct but it never finishes logging in. when
i watch the log window all i get is garbage characters. i've tried every
setting i saw ( CHAP, PAP, Script and Terminal) to no avail. i've
step farther from microsoft.
