This hasn't helped me much, with my parallel port scanner. I have a Microtek
e-3 plus, which is supported , but I can't get it recognized. Also, I can't
get xscanimage as a drop-down option with gimp, either. I created a symlink
to /usr/bin/xscanimage in my ~/.gimp-1.2/plug-ins directory,
