first thanks for the correct command line for true color which was startx -- -bpp 32 modem question using kpp using mandrake 5.2 I changed it to com2(cua1) in settings in linux and it came up with a screen that said modem ready but then nothing happened the dialup box froze this is

Exactly, COM3 is what I got with the 220 on Win 98, couldn't change it so back to the Diamond shop it want. I wish it had worked, I sure hope you get it working ! If you have a PnP modem, can you disable PnP ? Use JP to configure COM2. agent25 wrote: first thanks for the correct command
