The other option perhaps is to boot into knoppix and if it works fine then copy your XF86Config/-4 files over the mandrake ones and then reboot. I find the Knoppix hardware detection/configuration to be almost flawless. After that, you can update to the latest greatest drivers. Cheers Jason
