Concerning login you may have to use the word root then if you wish make yourself a "user account" name. Use this account name to login. However, anyone NOT root has limited access over system control and configuration. This is because Linux (UNIX) is a network OS. Sam dan riebs wrote:

What do I use for a login? I don't remember being asked for a login name, and now I can't get into the system without one. When it prompted you for that password, it said it wanted the 'root' password. Login is 'root', password is what you typed in. :)
