I am not clear how you do the software testing.
I think it is enough the kernel and the gcc are stable, the other software is under
the charge of its release organization , even if there is something wrong , the users
can download the lastest source code to compile by
FYI,
I've been using the 8.0beta2 for a few days now. I had to go to 8.0 because
the 7.2 installer freezes on my machine (no idea why). 8.0 is great!
Anti-aliased fonts, latest kde and gnome, built in support for my ATA100 bus.
I did notice that the reported compiler version is 2.96 though.
