How are you doing the downloads? My immediate guess is that you are somehow
downloading the files in text mode, not binary mode, which will corrupt
them. But with no info on the download method, it's only a guess.

When I try to open the .RPMs with kpackage (1.3.10) , it tells me that all
the files in the package are malformed.
