[newbie] update-menus stalls

hi, issuing the command $ update-menus -v hangs and doesn't recover. It seems to do the trick but it always makes me nervous when things don't run to completion. Any ideas? Cheers Anton Can't give you the output 'cos the copy/paste doesn't seem to work until commands complete... Want to buy
