Personally, I don't have a problem with a pieced together bike, so

There is a post for a luggage rack, not the backrest. However, my 750
rack has the backrest cut off with the holes plugged with simple
chromed things you can get at any hardware store. I then have a Givi
box with a pad for the rider that works better than the stock backrest
- it gives my rider 3
