I also had a 1983 650 that I purchased new and I installed the factory
rack on it.
As I remember it, there was a pretty substantial amount of hardware in
the kit.

Having those side mounting bolts on the 700's sure makes mounting the
rack easier. The 650 has the rail mounts under the seat.

My Nighthawk 650 seems to be leaking oil from the vents on the
alternator.
Has anyone experience this before ?
Did anyone try replacing the o-ring or oil seal that seal the
alternator against the engine ?
How difficult is it to replace them ? did it fix the problem ?

It looked pretty darn good and might help you in your project.
