+1. Those valves tend to crack rather easy. If you happen to replace it,
look for the L-shaped valves. They make your live so much easier.

Inflate the tire to 29, then slop some soapy water on it around the bead
and valve stem. Look for a steady stream of tiny bubbles.

About 2 weeks ago I checked my tire pressure and it was way low, like 15
psi. So I filled the tires to 29 as instructed in the 2008 Nighthawk
manual. (I didn't notice as much of an effect on traction as I expected.
Another story.)
Checked the tires again yesterday and they were down to 27 psi. Do
If I do anything with exhaust, I'll get a 4-into-1. However, I'm not enthused
about the potential of rejetting.

Javier,
Thank you. Once again I doubt I will remove the baffles. The owner 2nd back
from me, had pulled the baffles & drilled them.
Tell you a story. Back in February March, I was working on my bike and the
cheapie rear axle lift, bent a tab and dumped my bike over. I tried to lift it
myself b
Ross, have you looked at the Tim Hodge's mod? Instead of completely
removing the baffles, you can drill a series of holes if increase air flow
which also results in a somewhat different tone. You should be able to find
videos in yourtube.
Javier.

Yes. I agree.

I have a stage 2 jet kit along with a KN air filter. It all comes out of a Mac
4-1 exhaust. The Mac is a very cheap exhaust. It will rust after a couple of
years. The Vance n Hines is a better investment. The Macs have a removable
baffle which is held on by only one screw. It's a very primitive

Your correct. You can typically get more performance from a stock bike with

While I am not voting for removing baffles or even worse a straight pipe, I
don't think the factory setup is for optimal performance. In fact, most
Japanese bikes come pretty lean from factory to meet emissions regulations.
Rejetting and adjusting the carbs will give you better performance even

Yeah! It's pretty much like a Honda Civic, open it up, make it loud. Jetting
and opening exhaust does not add HP, you are moving the power band. You have
to do internal engine mods to add HP.
I agree do what you want, but it's a waste of time and screws up a bike that
was already dialed in
