Hi Charles,
What's up. Sounds like a familiar story. I've been living in Vancouver for
a year and a bit (Chinatown, specifically) and one of my bikes is an
'84-550. You ride year-round in Vancouver? Brave soul, good for you. I
actually had a windshield strut snap when I was moving here so I ju
Definitely cool with me. Glad you guys enjoyed it.

If you have to ditch a NH, do it the right way (obviously I mean what I'm
doing). Make a dirt cheap offer to sell it to one of your friends. Don't
think of it as losing a bike, but gaining a riding buddy. This way I'll
still be able to keep an eye on my old 550, and maybe even ride it

I really like it, I'm down with getting one of these made up. I especially
like the production years, since I've just bought a "next-gen" 91-750 to go
with my "old-school" 84-550.-Christoph

Hey Colin,I have the exact same model and I've been through ignition issues
already. On an otherwise bulletproof bike it's a poorly designed part, so
I'm wondering that your fusebox might be fine.
I got mine 2 years ago, in similar condition, and last year the ignition

I think that's some really tasteful and impressive work, especially on a
weathered bike. I have just been offered a '91-750 (will be my 2nd
Nighthawk) so this is really exciting to see.
Makes a sharp desktop background too. Bravo. -Christoph

I had the same problem last year. I was making a big roadtrip so the bags
were packed solid but still drooped onto the pipes. I turned them around
backwards so that they slanted down to the front, matching the exhaust.
Then I cut a few short sections of ABS pipe, maybe 1.5" diameter, 8" long,

Viggy, I've got that slow head cover leak as well, it just looks terrible.
But with an old bike (mine is an '84) you take your chances when
disassembling for something like that. For my money, I'll just top up the
oil. Probably only loses $1 worth per season. Christoph

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed. And even better: both conductive
circuits work in the new ignition, it was just a bad connection in the
harness. Now as soon as I can get that stripped bolt off and my old
ignition out, I'll be in the money. I'll let you know how that turns out,
