Good afternoon. I just called Battery Plus and they don't believe they
have an X-2 battery, (now called the Duracell Ultra) that will fit a 1982
650 NH. Anybody know what works?
2x the price, but I would prefer the sealed AGM style, but am unsure what
fits.

Mustapha, I'm with you on this. Mine is an 82 650 Nighthawk. If I'm using
the bike as a commuter, it starts immediately first thing every morning and
coming home in the evening. I'm OK if I stop for gas right away but if I
drive for over 30 minutes and then stop, I can almost guarantee a prob
OH, I forgot, yes the battery discharge comment is spot on. I don't but
the battery tender on every night, maybe every 3-5 days but I have had to
pop the clutch coasting down a hill more than once.
Watch Harbor Freight, on sale they sell a battery float charger for $5.99,

I have the exact bike and has been said, it was made with left over CB
parts before they completed the transition to a pure Nighthawk in 83.
Getting parts has never been a real issue but I have bought CB parts hoping
they were one of the parts not yet converted (anyone need a brake lever

They are very different but: as a single song, Golden Earring's "Radar
Love" is a long standing favorite.
For a longer trip how about Wagner's "Die Walkure", especially "Ride of the
Valkyrie". Almost a guaranteed speeding ticket.

I have the same ride. At idle, 850 rpm it will be 12.4-12.6V. If I'm over
2500 rpm, I'll get 14V. It been like this since I bough the bike in 2005.
I had a dead battery last month after stopping for gas. Fortunaltey it was
on top of a hill, got it rolling and popped the clutch into 2nd. My
You didn't mention which store you were in but I'd ask if they have
cameras. My car got hit in a parking winter before last and I was able to
find the other driver. This was in a company's parking lot and their
security was able to give me a plate number in about 2 hours. I went to

I'm another SeaFoam true believer and on an earlier post said I would

All input on the questions welcome and appreciated.

Good afternoon. I read this digest everyday but tend not to write in
very often. I’m a C+ shade tree mechanic, ok maybe C-, so I defer to
the better experienced.
I have a 1982 650 Nighthawk with about 22,000 miles on it. I’ve had
the bike since 06 and it’s been great fun and way more reliable t
