Well, from all I'm reading I'll probably just leave well enough alone. I
had a Sabre V45 years ago. I was able to pull the baffles from that. They
weren't welded in. I didn't loose any noticeable power and the bike had a
great growl. Not Harley annoying, just a nice mean growl. Wish I
, and there aren't rivets, can I just drill holes into the back
of the baffling cover? If so, does anyone have an idea if doing that would
somehow mess up the backpressure/air mixture, etc. and have and effect on
how the bike runs?

is interesting. Anyone else know anything about that? Does is
significantly increase volume? More importantly does it mess with the back
pressure/carb mixture, etc.
Thanks!

I have an 83 550. I love everything about the bike with one exception. I
wish it wasn't so darn quiet. I don't need it to be as loud as a Harley,
but I honestly can't hear the engine above the wind noise in my full face
helmet once I get above 50 mph. I can see that the baffles are welded
at least. The service manager at the dealership did tell me to
start it every day and let it run for a few minutes to continue trying to
flush it out. Hopefully that will work.

I have an 83 Nighthawk 550. Here's my problem. This just started the
other day and had never happened before. When I've got the bike warmed up
and the choke is off, the idle wavers, dropping now and then below
1000rpms. Eventually the bike just stalls. When I pull out their is a
