ties to keep them from flying off.

My right side cover blew off
I had a side cover come off a buddy's bike while I was going down the
highway once. It landed on the footpeg and the wind made it start flapping
back and forth between the bike and my leg. Scared the hell out of me, I'm
riding along at 70mph and something started tapping my ankle.

On Thu,
Lucky you!
I think I may pick up a couple of these shutter bullet catches, see if they
fix my missing posts on my own side panels. I've been rocking a half-naked
look from day one.

I actually didn't know it fell off, my dad was following in his truck and
saw it fly off, stopped, picked it up, and had it for me when we got to our
destination.

Did a little searching: seems the part we want might just be a shutter part,
not a cabinet part.
Google "shutter bullet catch" and the piece that screws onto the wall looks
like just the thing we need...

Really like the strong magnet idea. Might be the simplest to do. It could
also be tethered with a short wire cable for extra safety should it bounce
loose.

I think I know what you're talking about, Bill; those should still be
available.
I'd have to go take a look at my local hardware store, but you might just
have answered my question of how to fix my own 750 panels...

Amazing that you found the cover. I once had a large sailboat hatch slider
blow off while trailering. Spent hours looking and never found it. With a
little minor engineering you can use brass round-top screws (the kind that
were used to secure cabinet doors in spring receptacles) to replace the
