They vent the top line. There is no way fuel would get up there unless the bike
is laying over. Maybe a little risidual fuel?

Lay them along the inside of the frame rails. If you point them down a
strong cross-wind will cause the engine to cut out.

The two breather tubes go down either side of the frame tubing . They go up
before going down just to form a gentler sweep. No gas should come out. If
it does you have a leaking float valve or leaking O rings in the metal fuel
feed to each carb. Tap the bowls with a screw driver first to see if it
