I'm guessing this is a 650? Either way it sounds like you may have pulled something loose which could be shorting out now. Orange wires are typically turn signals (along with light blue) and dark green is usually the ground. Look up the Wiring Diagram for your bike from Paul's Nighthawk pages ( htt

So I just got a nice 1983 Nighthawk. Everything was working fine, but the headlight housing was cracked - so I decided to fix it. Upon taking the headlight out and disconnecting the 3-wire plug, I had noticed there was a green and an orange wires that were not connected to anything. After fixing
