I know that the book shows that the way to check your cdi is to check
your timing if it is off then it is bad.

I read somewhere,maybe here, that the only way to check one is to put it on
another bike.I plugged the boxes into my running bike and it would not
fire. I plugged the originals back and it fired right up. So off to Ebay I
went. We'll see what happens when the new ones arrive.

I had the #1 cyclender stop putting out spark. Went through the
check list thats in the shop manuel check coil check wires ect... I
had a used cdi and put it on the bike now it runs fine but I don't
trust it because it too is oem stock from 84 out of a parts bike. The
manual does not show a way
Just bought 2 CDI boxes off Ebay for a bike I'm restoring. They were both
bad, so it happens. Paid $50 for the pair with free shipping, so I'm
feeling OK about that, at least until I find out if they work.
