Gee, if you jump the negative battery terminal to the starter motor terminal.. duh. woweee !  Check for 12 volts at the motor when holding down the button and if not replace the solenoid. Has 12 volts ? Pull the starter and the end cap. Clean and rebuild. New brushes needed. --- On Tue, 9/22/0
