My thoughts ran toward a blockage in the MC since it was pressure in the line. If I'm not mistaken, the bleeder is 'upstream' of the slave cylinder, so a bit of dirt or old rubber there shouldn't keep pressure in the line. Regardless, if the problem has gone away and doesn't return, the point is r

Good work, Bob. How did the fluid look? Sounds like you might perhaps have a little dirt in your line, or might be nearing time for a clutch master rebuild. If it happens again, thoroughly drain then bleed that particular set of hydraulics, until the fluid is clean as the fluid going in. Kurt On
